Through the art of observation you will learn how to transform sensory experience into crisp, original written imagery. After collecting "field notes" from the Ragdale gardens and prairie, come inside to discuss various ways of seeing. Exercises that focus on close observation, description and metaphor will allow you to discover or deepen your personal voice, and to create sketches in words using the natural world as a muse. British born Nicola Waldron is an award winning poet and educator who currently teaches creative writing at Lake Forest College and in the wider community.
