Labor Day

Art Fair on the Square
Time: 10:00am - 5:00pm
The Deer Path Art League's 54th Art Fair on the Square will be held in historic Market Square at Deer Path and Western Avenue, Lake Forest, IL. The art festival is a highly rated well-attended event of long standing.

The Art Fair on the Square is the Deer Path Art League's signature event. The art festival helps to fulfill their mission to bring the visual arts to the community. This year 180 artists will be selected to participate. These artists are selected through a jury process after reviewing submitted images of their art. Last year over 600 national and international artists from across the United States applied to participate in this event.

LF Symphony Concert
Lake Forest Symphony, under the musical direction of Alan Heatherington, will kick off its season at the James Lumber Center for the Performing Arts in Grayslake on the College of Lake County campus.

The concert will begin at 8 p.m., with a free pre-concert lecture by music researcher and composer Jim Kendros offered at 7 p.m. Concert sponsors: Bill Anest Family Foundation and Northern Trust.

Single tickets for the concert are $49, $39 and $29 with senior and student discounts available. Tickets may be purchased by calling the Symphony office at 847-295-2135 or online at www.lakeforestsymphony.org.

Join Lake Forest's own Market on the Square (between Bank Lane and Forest Avenue) featuring local vendors and locally produced flowers, vegetables and goods. Market on the Square provides a congenial gathering place to trade locally grown and homemade products in an open air setting. Proceeds will benefit the community spirit as well as the local economy. Featured local vendors to date: The Garden at Elawa Farm, Amidei Mercatino, Southgate Cafe, Kiddles Sports, Lake Forest Flowers, Bee Boys and Charenton, and Organic Wellness Cafe.

Gorton's Wine Tasting & Auction
Join Gorton Community Center and our specialty wine experts for an evening of wine-tasting and hors d'oeuvres, with silent and live auctions of fine and extraordinary wines, wine items, and experiences. All proceeds benefit Gorton Community Center.

The silent auction will feature very special wines in collections, small verticals, or of very limited production, and other wine experiences and items. The live auction will feature wines of very rare and special value, large formats, and special wine and dining experiences.
