Cover to Cover: Creating Coptic-bound Books, with Regin Igloria
This is the workshop for novelists (or journal writers), draftsmen (or doodlers), and literary scholars (or bookworms). Learn how to create and bind the pages you normally fill with words, images, and musings using the ancient Coptic stitch binding technique. Tools and methods will be discussed, and you will learn through both demonstrations and hands-on creation. All materials included. Limit 10 people. Igloria is a Chicago artist (who binds all his own sketchbooks!) and Ragdale’s Director of Artists in Residence. He also teaches at Marwen.

A hilarious comedy about a bare bones production of Anton Chekhov's Three Sisters, complete with an ambitious sitcom star, crazy director, jaded Off-Broadway actress and an innocent third-grade teacher from La Vernia, Texas. Commerce, art, capitalism and casting crash headfirst into each other as the question is pondered: Will any of these three actresses make it to Hollywood?
Citadel Theatre is a professional, not-for-profit theatre that has established itself on the far North Shore. Citadel is currently housed in the Grotto, a 70-seat black box performance space, in Gorton Community Center, 400 E. Illinois Road, Lake Forest.

6th Grade Halloween Dance

Following the tradition of offering a special dance for sixth graders only, Gorton welcomes 200 of the sixth grade population of Lake Forest and Lake Bluff to the 6th Grade Grotto Night. This event has a Halloween theme and will feature for the first time the DJ's from Bizar Entertainment.
Activities will include games and dancing, a raffle, photo opportunities and other goodies. School dress and conduct codes will be adhered to, and the evening will be chaperoned by experienced volunteers.
Tickets will be available for purchase at the Gorton office or on their website starting at 9 a.m. on Monday, September 25. Cost: $10. Limit: 2 tickets per family.

Lake Forest Symphony, under the musical direction of Alan Heatherington, will perform an All Mozart Concert at the James Lumber Center for the Performing Arts in Grayslake on the College of Lake County campus. Soprano Michelle Areyzaga will be the featured soloist. The concert will begin at 8:00 p.m., with a free pre-concert talk by music researcher and composer Jim Kendros offered at 7:00 p.m.
Following each concert, a free reception will be held for Symphony patrons. Details will be provided in the concert program.
